Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Mr TechFIX! We aim to provide you with the best repair and data recovery services while ensuring transparency and fairness. By engaging our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Collection of Devices
- Devices not collected within 30 days from the day of repair completion will incur a storage fee of KES 200 per day.
- If a device is not collected within 60 days, it will be deemed abandoned and disposed of without further notice.
2. Risk of Breakage During Repairs
- For devices requiring motherboard repair (laptops, phones, tablets, smartwatches) where opening involves the risk of screen breakage, the customer must provide prior written consent acknowledging this risk.
- In the event of breakage during such repairs, the customer assumes responsibility for the replacement cost of the screen or any other affected components.
3. Device Check-in Process
- Customers must sign a ticket list when handing over a device, confirming the presence of all internal and external components.
- This signed list will serve as a reference in case of disputes regarding missing items.
4. Repairs for Dead Gadgets
- For dead gadgets, our initial focus will be on restoring power to the device.
- We cannot guarantee the absence of additional faults until the device powers on.
- If further issues are identified after powering on, additional charges may apply beyond the initially agreed amount.
5. Warranty Policy
(a) General Warranty Terms
- Warranty applies only to original parts installed during repairs. For generic parts (if opted for by the customer), no warranty will be provided.
- Attempting to open, tamper with, or allowing a third party to open the gadget after repair will void the warranty.
(b) Specific Warranty Terms
- Laptops Purchased: Warranty covers software-related issues only for a period of one year. No hardware-related issues are covered.
- Hardware Repairs: A 3-month warranty is provided for hardware repairs.
- Screens: Warranty covers sensitivity issues only and does not include powering or other functional issues.
- Batteries: Warranty is valid only if the battery is charged properly during the first charge cycle. Allowing the battery to go flat during the initial cycle will void the warranty.
6. Consent for Use of Generic Parts
- In cases where original parts are unavailable or the customer opts for generic replacements, prior written consent will be required.
- Generic parts do not qualify for a warranty.
7. Liability Limitations
- While we strive to handle all devices with utmost care, Mr TechFIX is not liable for data loss, accidental damage during repair (beyond standard risks such as breakage outlined in Clause 2), or pre-existing issues exacerbated by repair processes.
8. Payment and Additional Charges
- Agreed repair charges must be paid in full upon completion of the service.
- Additional charges will apply if unforeseen faults are discovered after starting repairs (e.g., non-functional components revealed post power restoration).
9. Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes arising from repairs or services will be resolved amicably. If unresolved, they will be addressed in accordance with the laws of Kenya.
10. Disclaimer for Data Recovery
- While we endeavor to recover as much data as possible, we cannot guarantee full recovery due to the nature of data loss. Customers are encouraged to back up data regularly.
